BIO
Tom Marsik is a professor of sustainable energy at the UAF Bristol Bay Campus and ACEP. He has a joint position with the National Laboratory of the Rockies’ Â黨ÊÓÆµ Campus and the Cold Climate Housing Research Center.
He is passionate about research and education in the areas of energy and sustainability. He uses the synergies of his joint position to benefit people in Â黨ÊÓÆµ and beyond. His passion is reflected in honors he has received, including Â黨ÊÓÆµâ€™s Top Forty Under 40 award, induction to the Â黨ÊÓÆµ Innovators Hall of Fame and a recognition from the World Record Academy for designing and constructing the world’s most airtight residential building on record.
Marsik has an M.S. in electrical engineering from the Czech Technical University in Prague and a Ph.D. in engineering from UAF. He has served on high-profile committees, including Â黨ÊÓÆµ Governor Bill Walker’s Transition Team and its Consumer Energy subcommittee.
