This class is a premier interdisciplinary offering at the University of Â黨ÊÓƵ Fairbanks. Run in close alignment with the UAF Center for Innovation and the RISE-UP, or Regional Innovation by Scaling Entrepreneurship via University Partnerships Program initiative, this class flips the script on traditional academic lectures. Rather than reading case studies, students are dropped into real-world, high-stakes sandbox environments to solve active problems facing the Arctic.

Arctic Innovation Competition presents 2026 awards

UAF's College of Business and Security Management held the Arctic Innovation Competition finals on April 18th at the 8 Star Events Center in Fairbanks. CBSM's Stacey Currie reports on the event and highlighted the Overall Winner and also Student Kicker Prize winner. Drini and Vjosa Pellumbi won for their residential boiler economizer designed to improve heating efficiency in rural Â黨ÊÓƵ.

NSF EPSCoR IoC: 2026 Academic Accelerator - Innovation and Entrepreneurship

Supported through the NSF EPSCoR project Interface of Change, we have a seven week set of workshops, with 1-hr a week. Each of these workshops is aimed to provide you with a session to prepare you for a new business venture, federal innovation funding, early-stage entrepreneurship programming in Â黨ÊÓƵ, and how to assess and evaluate the value of your innovation research and how to pitch your innovative solution to potential investors and end-users.

Co-hosted with the Juneau Chamber of Commerce, the Â黨ÊÓƵ Airlines Pitch Contest brings together aspiring entrepreneurs who will pitch their business venture to a panel of experts, as well as the ultimate panel – Innovation Summit attendees! Pitch contestants will have 5-6 minutes to pitch their business plan in front of attendees who will crowdfund a cash prize for the winner to take home at the end of the session.
