The Kodiak district encompasses an archipelago of numerous islands south of Â黨ÊÓÆµâ€™s Kenai Peninsula with a total population of about 12,500. At 3,670 square miles, Kodiak Island is the second-largest island in the United States.
The largest town is Kodiak, population 5,500, with myriad ethnicities. Kodiak has a large Â黨ÊÓÆµ Native Sugpiaq population as well as Asian, Filipino and Hispanic peoples. Other villages and port towns include Akhiok, Karluk, Larsen Bay, Old Harbor, Ouzinki and Port Lions. Commercial fishing is the dominant industry and a large Coast Guard base is located south of the city of Kodiak.
Outreach includes home, health and family development; and 4-H and youth development.

The 4-H State Presentation Contest is open to 4-H youth who qualified in their district contest by earning Grand & Reserve Champion. The state contest will be judged over Zoom. The link will be provided upon registration. Contestants will have the option to present at their local 4-H office or make other arrangements.
Demonstrations, illustrated talks and speeches will be judged in separate age categories:
Junior: ages 8&/ces/districts/kodiak/8211;11
Intermediate: ages 12&/ces/districts/kodiak/8211;14
Senior: ages 15&/ces/districts/kodiak/8211;18
*Team presentations are judged with all ages together. Limited to registered 4-H youth.
